Event Information
The
2013 Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival will take place on Sunday, March 24th,
at South Beach Park, located along the Fort Lauderdale Beach. Like our 2012 event, the Florida AIDS Walk
and Music Festival is a 5K walk along the beach, followed by a concert, food

- Registration
for the event for all participants is $25. When you register online, you will be asked to pay
$25 using a credit or debit card to complete the registration process. If you cannot or don’t wish to pay
online, you may click
here to download and print a registration form that can be mailed to
Florida AIDS Walk, with a check as payment.
The $25
registration fee is added to your fundraising total, and is treated as a
donation to Florida AIDS Walk – supporting the beneficiary organizations in the
support of people with HIV/AIDS in Florida.
- Food, Desserts, and Drinks (alcoholic and
non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase during the Music
Festival. Be sure to bring cash to enjoy these tasty treats, and a
driver’s license or ID card if you plan to purchase beer, wine or
cocktails!
When: Sunday, March 24th, 2013
- 8:00 am: Registration/Check-In at
“South Beach Park,” located near the South end of Fort Lauderdale Beach,
just north of the Sheraton.
- 8:00 am: Walkers who have checked in
will be welcomed onto the beach at South Beach Park to find their friends
and teammates.
- 9:30 am: Opening Ceremony begins on
our BEACH STAGE, facing South Beach Park.
- 10:30 am: Walk begins (see route map,
below)
- Approximately 11:30 am: Post-Walk Celebration and
Music Festival begins – drinks, food, DJ’s and live entertainment!

Parking
Parking
will be available for $5 at the Bahia Mar Hotel and at The Sails Parking Lot.
We expect the Bahia Mar to fill up quickly, and encourage you to consider
parking at The Sails parking lot, where you can take our free shuttle to and
from the Walk staging area. Sit next to a stranger and make a new friend!
Shuttles will run from 7:30am – 3:30pm.

Walk Route Information
Florida AIDS Walk is a 5 kilometer walk along the beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach. Most people will take about an hour to walk 5 kilometers. There will be a halfway turnaround point and relief shuttles for those who need additional assistance.
Refreshments and restroom facilities will be provided at checkpoints along the route.
