Florida AIDS Walk 2011 - Event Information

When: Sunday, March 20, 2011

• 8:00 am : Registration/Check-In (Registration/Check-In located on the first floor of Parking Garage east of the Museum)
• 9:20 am : Opening Ceremony at Huizenga Plaza, Fort Lauderdale
• 10:00 am : Walk begins (see route map, below)
• 1:00 pm : Post-Walk Celebration - check back for details!

Walk Route Information

Florida AIDS Walk is a 10 Kilometer walk through the heart of downtown, Ft. Lauderdale, to the beach and back. Most people will take about two hours to walk the 10 kilometers. There will be a halfway turnaround point and relief shuttles for those who need additional assistance.

Refreshments and restroom facilities will be provided at checkpoints along the route.

Directions to Huizenga Plaza, Ft. Lauderdale

Huizenga Plaza is a 1.8 acre park in the heart of downtown. It is on the southeast corner of Las Olas and Andrews Avenue and across from Riverfront.

• From the South take I-95 North and exit at Broward Blvd. Make a right onto Broward Blvd. and proceed east to Andrews Avenue. Make a right and the park is two blocks down on your left.
• From the North take I-95 South to Broward Blvd. Make a left onto Broward Blvd. and proceed east to Andrews Avenue. Make a right and the park is two blocks down on your left.
• From the West take I-595 East to I-95 North and exit at Broward Blvd. Make a right onto Broward Blvd. and proceed east to Andrews Avenue. Make a right and the park is two blocks down on your left.
• Preferred parking at One Las Olas Parking Garage

Important Information

People who wish to attend the Walk but have not registered online and/or raised a minimum of $25 will need to register and pay $25 prior to being admitted to the event.
